Various Items

  1. Several firearms discussion web sites have been under a near constant denial of service (DOS) attack (The High Road, AR15.com and Glocktalk.com) for the past several weeks. The High Road’s hosting provider apparently is unable to do anything about these attacks. The High Road is currently looking for a new hosting provider. The attacks have been traced to a Chicago area data center that refuses to even respond to inquiries about this. These DOS attacks are in effect stealing from the hosting provider and the owners of these web sites. I normally do not say that there should be a law, but in this case I do believe one is needed (if it there isn’t already one). I also believe that the hosting companies having to deal with this should sue the owners of the data center in Chicago.
  2. For those who believe the United Nations is a friend to the USA – Apparently, the UN Development Program has sent such wonderful books as “Taming American Power: The Global Response to U.S. Primacy,” “The End of Iraq: How American Incompetence Created a War Without End,” and “State of War: The Secret History of the CIA and the Bush Administration.” This was done at a cost of nearly $3000. To get all the books the UN included in the shipment would cost you $826.24 from Amazon.com.
