This Is Awesome

Just incase you missed it, U.S. House Representative Charles Rangel (New York) owed more that $10,000 in back taxes. The IRS waived the interest and penalties for him. Well, U.S. House Representative John Carter (Texas) (BTW, as a lover of science fiction, I love the name) has introduced H.R. 735, titled the “Rangel Rule Act.” Under this legislation, if passed, anyone who writes “Rangel Rule” on their tax return will not be charged any interest or penalties by the IRS. Now, this legislation has been shuffled off to the House Ways and Means Committee. I suggest we all write our congressmen and ask them to get this legislation passed. After all, they want the law to be applied fairly to everyone, don’t they.

Hat tip to LawDog for this.
