The Seasons Change – An Update
Well, it is full on Autumn now. And, Texas is having typical early Autumn weather. Yesterday was warm, muggy, and cloudy. Today it is cool, crisp, and clear. This week, the predicted highs will range from the upper 80s to 70 degrees. This means lots of allergens being kicked up and me with a sinus infection. If I did not have this sinus infection, I would be out riding my mountain bike or walking the trails of a local park and taking pictures. Now for some other updates.
Work:
I have been working with Infinitude Creative Group for almost a year. I love working with them. They are great people. The work is often interesting and challenging. And, they have no problem with me working from home. However, lately the work has been sporadic. And, since I’m paid on an hourly basis, this means things have gotten mighty lean at my house. So, I’m about to start looking for another job. That means there will be some changes to the site. I am already adding examples of my flash work to the site. It is on the menu at the top under resumes.
FenCon:
FenCon was fun this year. And, I’m really looking forward to next year. John Ringo will be the toastmaster. It has been a few years since I saw him last. The picture of the lovely lady to the left is my wife on Saturday morning at the convention.
Photography:
I have mostly been taking pictures of craft projects for my friends. My plan is to start taking and publishing at least one picture a day. This may not start until the beginning of next year. And, sometimes the photos will be taken with my camera phone.
Politics:
I do feel the Presidential election this year is very important. But, if the men that the 2 main political parties have nominated are the best this country can come up with, we are in some seriously deep doo-doo. We really need to pay more attention to the elections further down the ticket. They are what really matter. Keep in mind that the US Congress is the government body that governs taxation and spending. They are the ones who are truly responsible for the economic problems our country is in. All the President can do is try to lead them, if he is not to busy playing politics or golf.
Cats:
We have adopted/been adopted by an older male cat named Thomas. It is quite obvious that he was abandoned. He is sweet and affectionate. He is well-mannered, except for the fact that he begs for whatever you are eating. I blame this on the lean times from after he was abandoned. Below is a picture of Thomas.
