Oh, C’Mon!
Summary: A Los Angeles Police Officer left his pistol on the backseat of his vehicle. The officer’s 3 year old son picked up the pistol and shot his father in the back. The officer is now paralyzed for life. The officer is sueing Glock because they did not make their pistol idiot proof.
My Opinion: I personally do not like the fact that Glocks do not come with an active safety lever. However, this guy is a moron. You do not leave loaded firearms laying around when their are children (especially toddlers) around who could lay hands on them. I hope the court throws this suit, and the idiots (including his lawyers) who filed it, in the garbage. As an aside, I do have firearms unsecured in my home. However, there are no children in my home. I also ask any visitors with children to let me know ahead of time. This way, I can secure them before the children come over. This former officer obviously does not have the brains to be allowed around children unsupervised.
