Boy Scouts Suing Philadelphia

Boy Scouts sue Phila. to stay in headquarters

Summary: The City of Philadelphia has been letting the local Boy Scouts Council to use a publicly owned building as headquarters for 88 years rent-free. Last October, the city gave them an ultimatum to allow atheists and gays to join, start paying a fair market rent, or get out by May 31. Now, the local council is suing to remain indefinetely.

Opinion: The BSA does have the right to say who can and can not join. However, other organizations and peopleĀ have the right (in some cases the legal obligation) to withdraw their support when the BSA enforces discriminatory practices. I hope the judge laughs this case right out of the court room.
