I’ve started on building my own AR15

Last night I ordered a Cavalry Arms MKII lower receiver. For those who don’t know, this particular receiver is molded out of plastic with a fixed position stock built in. When finished, it will be black (I must have a classic Evil Black Rifle) , 223 caliber, and have a 16″ barrel. The decisions I still need to make are:

  • A2 or A3 upper?
  • If I go with an A3 style upper, do I want to go flip up/removable front and rear sites or a removable carry handle with a fixed front sight?

The reason I am thinking about going with the A3 upper is I will probably want to add optics at some point (my eyes aren’t the greatest). However, iron sights are more reliable.
