More areas passing smoking bans in multi-unit housing complexes.

Summary: Cities are starting to ban smoking in apartments and condominiums. Some see at as protection of the health of non-smokers, others see it as an erosion of property rights.

My Opinion: Having lived with a heavy smoker in a neighboring apartment, I can see the demand for non-smoking building and/or apartments. The smell seeps through the walls. However, based on the article, I believe that something other than bans is needed. First, the aprtment managers/owners need clarification of whether or not it is illegal to ban smoking. Second, complexes need non-smoking buildings/sections to offer to renters.
